IN THE LOOP. Senior Maria Silva attempts to tie a knot on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. Silva help make several toys to help the dogs, over a 100 dog toys were made in the event to be donated. “I just hope the dogs really enjoy them.” Silva said.

DOUBLE TRUOBLE. Sophomore Jackeline Ortiz and senior Alexa Aguisanda braid donated t-shirts on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. Ortiz and Aguisanda both are members from Student Council, when they received the band post both friends planned to stayed after school to help in the event. “It was nice that I could do something for dogs that don’t have much,” Ortiz said.

PLAYTHING. Junior Jilian Walker participates in the dog toy making that Leo Club was holding on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. FFA, Student Council, and Leo Club members all contributed in the upcycle to help the animal shelter located beside highway 242. “I had a lot of fun and I think other people did too in all the doggy toy making,” Walker said. “My favorite was my long Lady Gaga purple upcycled.’’

LET ME TRY. Junior Christian Aguilera learns how to make a braid on Feb. 6, 2024. Aguilera is a member in Leo Club, being one of the clubs that held the event he tried to learn how to braid for the cause.

FUN SIZED. Freshman Josilyn Martin and sponsor Jodi Garrett make dog toys out of old shirts on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. Leo Club participated in making toys for the animal shelter on 242, 150 upcycled pieces were made. ‘’We were making the toys really tight so the dogs could rough house so they wouldn't break easily” Martin said.

"We didn't finish our chances like we should have, but it’s progress and you have to trust it.”
