Logan Day, Executive Editor
Logan Day is the Executive Editor for Student Media. He’s the one who holds it all together, ensuring publications are organized properly. He’s been on staff for three years and done journalism for four. While he started as a photographer, his true passion is writing. So far he has won 20+ UIL journalism medals of which last year he advanced to region. In ILPC, he’s received 10 IAA’s, and two Best of the Best (state level) awards for his writing on the Compass, while additionally receiving the All-State Journalism Staff title. From TAJE, he’s received 11 BITS awards, and the Best of Texas award for his coverage of the Houston Kamala Harris Rally. In the Gloria’s Shield workshop two years ago he received first place in feature writing and awarded the Sherri Taylor Scholarship for journalism this year. He is also the Boys Aquatics team captain, and swims on the Varsity Medley Relay as the breaststroker (the best stroke). His ultimate goal this year is to receive the Journalist of The Year Award. In college, he will major in journalism. He loves everybody on his staff and hopes to leave this year stronger than it started. FYI he will tear up some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches incase you ever want to gift him something.
