Tell us about how you got into teaching.
I’ve been wanting to be a nurse since I was 3-years-old
What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?
I love to travel, but once I got out of highschool I realized I wasn’t ready. I had multiple jobs and I was working at Saudi Arabia.
When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?
Probably that I lived in Saudi Arabia and that I had three different careers.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I got through nursing school while having a child and having a business with my husband.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I am thankful that I have a wonderful director of nursing, Barbara Robertson. I am thankful for my family because they were my support. I wouldn’t make it through nursing school without them.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Stay and finish college at 18, that would’ve been easier, but I don’t have any regrets. I don’t know what would happen if I did stay and finish my nursing career then would I still be loving it now? I’m just not sure.
What do you hope to be remembered for?
I would hope I would leave an imprint on some of the students, a lot of the students see me frequently. I have a bunch of students that want to pursue nursing.
What’s on your bucket list?
Ziplining, I want to do zip lining and still travel. I have two continents that I need to go to, I haven’t gone to Antarctica and Australia.
