SPORTS RECAP 9/6-9/9: Cross Country places seventh at Grizzly Invitational

Senior Alex Castillo competes at the Grizzly Invitational at Grand Oaks on September. 3. 2022. The boy Cross Country team placed seventh beating Conroe High and Willis. “we felt confident going into the race and it felt good Beating Conroe but we know we still have to keep working to make sure we beat them in our upcoming races.” Castillo said. Football

On Friday the varsity team took on Galena Park in a losing effort going 35-7. This week they will be playing home at Buddy Moorhead Stadium against Conroe in a District game.

Volleyball

Last Tuesday the varsity team played at Grand Oaks losing 3-0 (11-25, 7-25, 5-25). On Friday they bounced back with a win against Cleveland, 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25, 12). This Tuesday varsity played College Park in an away district game, losing 3-0 (3-25, 11-25, 13-25) . On Friday they will take on Splendora in a district game.

Cross Country

On Saturday the Cross Country teams raced at Grand Oaks, where the varsity boys took seventh place, beating rivals Conroe and Willis. While the girls varsity and JV teams finished strong in their races. This Friday they will be going to Galveston to race in the Galveston Invitational.

Tennis

Last Thursday a meet at College Park was cut short after being pushed from Tuesday. Tennis won’t compete again until next Tuesday against Willis.
