Auditions for the UIL One Act Play will be Tuesday, Dec. 13, after school in Room 5508.

The play is a 40-minute selection that travels to contest and competes against other schools in the UIL district. Individual students and the entire group can earn awards.

“It will be at school but after school hours, and everyone can audition,” theater director Jill Tanner said. “Because of the rules, we can only cast 20 students.”

The first competition will be in the first week of March called Zone. If it qualifies out of Zone, the group will compete again until it does not advance at each level: district, bi-district, area, region and finally state.

Senior Stefanie Martinez is an advanced theater student and former member of the One Act Cast.

“W when the people are casted from the auditions, we practice and we compete with other schools,” she said. “Everyone has to audition for the play even if you’re already in theater.”
