SPORTS RECAP 1/29-2/5: Girls Soccer beats Willis

Manuel was driving into the paint to convert after having just been subbed into the game a few minutes before. “First half I was frustrated with being out for a while,” Manuel said. “We needed to stop turning over so much and choose better passes.”

BOYS BASKETBALL

Boys basketball had two matches. One against The Woodlands on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024 They lost with a score of 70-48. The other one was against Oak Ridge on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024. They won with a score of 58-47. Their next game will be on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 against New Caney.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Last week girls basketball had two matches, one on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024. They lost with a score of 74-31 against The Woodlands. The other one was against Oak Ridge on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024. They lost with a score of 29-55. Their next game will be on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 against New Caney.

BOYS SOCCER

Last week, boys soccer had one match on Saturday, Feb.3, 2024 against Willis. They won with a score of 7-1. Their next game will be on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024 against The Woodlands.

GIRLS SOCCER

Girls soccer had one match, on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, they won with a score of 4-1 against Willis. Their next match will be on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024 against The Woodlands.

WRESTLING

The team participated in a district tournament at Conroe High School. David Ramos, Jaxon Ochoa, Cutter Jahn, Joshua Marshall, Talon Pryzmus, and Carlos Guzman took 4th place. Miaham Jimenez, Isabel Trujillo, Kathryn Kaminski, and Chance Kidd took 3rd place. Emma LaCount, Mayra Ortiz, Jordan Nance, and Cameron Crittenden took 2nd place. The team will compete again Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024 and Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 in the regional tournament at Allen HS.

Rhyan Mar is a Reporter for Student Media at Caney Creek High School. He reports events that are involved with todays occurrences at the school and around the world. He's in his first year involved in the organization, and was slightly involved with Key Club in 2022 only as a member, he is also involved with his church. Rhyan is mostly involved with only his classes and getting his work done. He hasn't received any major awards but strives to. A little more about Rhyan is, he's lived in the area all his life, worked as a lifeguard at Big Rivers, and he's the only person in his family with colored eyes. Rhyan also really enjoys shopping, games, and music.

Jorge Ventura is photographer at Caney Creek, he takes photos of sports, clubs & organizations and in school events. This is his first year being apart of staff, previously he was on Caney Creek basketball team as a freshman. He is also apart of AV video and production class.
