I don’t usually take pictures but we saw this statue and I thought it was cool so we took a picture. It was so much fun to go out and be able to take pictures in the city,” Sanchez said. I usually never go out or do anything, so this was new for me.”

IN MY ZONE. Senior Justin Esteban takes pictures for the TAJE Fall Fiesta Digital Photo Contest on Saturday, Oct. 7. Esteban later won excellent on his submission for the category “convention” and an honorable mention in the lines category. “It was an unexpected pay off for me, I wasn’t expecting to win one let alone two awards,” Esteban said. “But it made me happy knowing the last minute submissions worked out in the end. It was a fun experience to spend a weekend with the journalism people and it was great seeing other students and our program receive acknowledgement for the months of hard work they’ve put into their given talent.”

READ ABOUT IT. Junior Ash Rezzoffi adds her own ideas to promote book club during a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023. The club came up with creating a book drive to show students and staff of what the organization was about. Everyone thinks the club is all about sitting around and reading books, but its not, Rezzoffi said. This will be a fun way to show everyone.
