GALLERY: Panteras en fuego perform at district schools in honor of Spanish heritage month

Members of the Panteras en Fuego dance team perform at Moorhead Junior High, Cambell Elementary, Creighton Elementary, and Wilkinson Elementary during Spanish heritage month. The group performed from Thursday Oct. 9 to Monday, Oct. 27, 2025.

The style of this dance originated in Sinaloa, Mexico. “At first, it’s like all of the nerves rush to you but as soon as you step foot on the stage it’s like everything goes away and like that’s the only thing that matters,” Balderas said.

Jay Berry is a photographer and editor (assignments). He has been on staff for two years and has won three top 10 awards for photojournalism, sports, and portraits. He is also one of the CISD district photography interns.
Sophia Miranda
Sophia Miranda, Communications Editor
Sophia Miranda is the communications editor and senior photojournalist at Caney Creek High School. She is now in her second year on staff. Before joining, she wanted to pursue psychology, but after taking Green’s intro class she became set on photography ever since.
Robert Snyder
Robert Snyder, Photojournalist
Robert Snyder, a photojournalist who prefers shooting photos of people, animals, and nature. Robert is starting his first year on yearbook staff, he took digital media his freshman year, and plans to continue doing yearbook for the rest of high school. Robert is also in band, and has been for about four years. This is his fifth year in band, and his second year in marching band. In seventh grade, he won the “Future Composer” award, for writing his own songs and showing them to his classmates.
