GALLERY: Winter Sports pep rally

Students gathered in the gym for the Winter Sports pep rally on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026. For the first time this year, students were split into two groups, boys and girls. The pep rally consisted of crowd chants, sports games and performances from Starletts and the Mighty panther band.

Villeda is trying to be more involved in the school spirit since it's her last year in high school. “I like dressing up for spirit days especially this year because it's my last year as a high school senior,” Villeda said. “I really want to take every opportunity to have fun and make nice memories.”

The style of this dance originated in Sinaloa, Mexico. “At first, it’s like all of the nerves rush to you but as soon as you step foot on the stage it’s like everything goes away and like that’s the only thing that matters,” Balderas said.

Abrahm Hernandez (12) was practicing for his upcoming drill meet on Sept.10, 2025. ROTC usually has drill practices weekly every Monday and Wednesday. Hernandez mentions that from joining ROTC involuntarily, now became something big from his life. “They had put me in ROTC because P.E was full but I ended up liking it and giving it a try,” Hernandez said. “In my opinion it's a very fun experience.”

Elizabeth Mendiola is a photographer and the social media editor for Caney Creek High School. This is her second year being on staff. Mendiola is part of the Panteras En Fuego dance team and Student council. She also enjoys listening to music, specifically oldies in Spanish, she likes dancing and spending time with her friends and family. “Eli” is planning to double major on Forensics/Criminal justice and in photography.
