How would other people describe you?
I feel like im pretty shy at first but after I open up I make people laugh and giggle.
How and why did you start playing?
It was in 7th grade, I was going to do basketball but (volleyball) tryouts were right around the corner and I just never went back.
Describe how you prepare before a game.
Before every game I have to listen to music, or else I play bad. I like to also end warmups on a good note.
What do you think your reputation is as an athlete?
Somebody who always makes you feel better after a mistake, I feel like being positive is important because when people get in their head and start feeling like they’re playing bad. I feel like my reputation is coming and picking up people, making them stay positive.
What personal superstitions or traditions do you have before, during or after a game?
If I don’t end my hitting lines with a good hit at least in, I feel like I have a bad game. Every time I wear a long sleeve jersey I play so bad.
Tell us about your favorite memory as an athlete either on or off the field.
During club season I went to a convention with my team and they had food and starbucks in there so it was lit.
Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.
I’m proud of myself for not quitting, because honestly playing volleyball is more of a mental sport than physical, so I’m just proud of myself for staying strong. I’m most proud of myself for being able to accept the fact that everything I do won’t be perfect all the time.
Who is someone you are thankful for and why?
I’m thankful for my mom because she’s the one who made everything happen. She drives me, feeds me, loves me and she’s my biggest supporter.
What advice would you give to people that may want to play your sport?
Honestly just don’t worry about it too much, it’s a game of mistakes, and if you’re not having fun while playing it’s over. Don’t get in your head too much, it’s supposed to be fun.
When people get to know you, really get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn?
Usually I’m really shy, I’m quiet, but when you really get to know me I’m a headache and I never stop talking.
What’s on your sports bucket list?
Honestly I feel like on my sports bucket list, it’s going to be playing for any college that I get into. If that’s not what life comes to then just stay playing throughout high school.
