LITTLE ONES. Junior Niria Gaona sits down with a kindergartner to help out with arts and crafts on Dec. 2, 2023. Kids from the kindergarten got to spend time with the starlettes the day after its Winter Wonderland performance. “It was a really nice and amazing experience for me as a starlette because they get to learn new things,” Gaona said. “ I get to be a role model to them and sometimes they look up to us.”

POP THE TOP. Senior Jocelyn Gonzalez opening a new can of paint on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022. It was hot, but I felt happy that I was a senior and felt cool that I finally got to do it, Gonzalez said. I just wanted to put my favorite thing which was Pokémon and Superheroes, and wanted to keep my sisters parking spot, and even if she graduated shes still a part of this school and my life. COUNT ON ME. Junior Cayle Kelly runs toward the finish line during the Cross Country meet at Liberty on Saturday, Sept 24, 2022. The Girls Varsity team placed fourth overall with 70 points. The fact that I was running for Varsity for the first time was what pushed me, and I needed to finish to do good, Kelly said. Varsity was depending on me. Was what pushed Cayle forward on completing her race and crossing that finish line.

WE GOT THIS. Alinne Flores (12) smiles at her teammate off camera. Flores and Aralynn Miracle are warming up and getting ready for their doubles match against Grand Oaks High School. “I was so proud because we were afraid of doing bad because it was Grand Oaks, and as 6A, we were scared because they all get private lessons,” Flores said. “So we were scoring a lot that game, and I was proud because Aralynn and I had been using really good communication and got the point.” But luck was not on their side in the end, the duo lost the match.
