Jorge Ventura is a website editors-in-chief for Caney Creek’s Student Media, as well as a photographer. He has been on staff for 2 years now, previously being the mixed sports editor, he is also a Conroe ISD 2024-25 intern photographer. Ventura is in his senior year and plans to attend University of North Texas after graduating and pursue his goals of being the first in his family to earn a degree and being a professional sports photographer.

FREE. Senior Christopher Gulliory at the free throw line ready to shoot his shot on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024 against Kingwood Park. Gulliory had gained two free throw attempts after being fouled going up for a shot and would convert on both attempts, putting two points on the board. “I did pretty well, wish we would've gotten the ball more,” Gulliory said. “If we had, it would have been a better game and a win.”

SIDELINE CHEER.Seniors Byron Brown, Matthew Calderon, and Derek Darkenwald cheered on their teammates from the sideline on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024. They cheered on because a foul was drawn after a shot was made which was converted from two points to three points, bringing the score between teams closer, the ending score would be a 50-45 loss for The Creek. “We have never beaten them before but this year our team is better than ever and we got close,” Calderon Said. “This game showed that the team could get far and not keep being the same old Creek,” Darkenwald said.

THREEE. Senior Raymond Eubanks shooting a three while contested by a Kingwood Park player on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024. Eubanks would convert on the shot attempt, gaining The Creek 3 points and bringing the score between teams closer in the first quarter, the game would go on and be tough and close but end unfortunately in a loss on The Creek’s record. “We’ve messed up but we still have opportunities,” Eubanks said. “This year is the best starting record we’ve ever had in our history.”

Martinez was introduced and announced as a starting player for the game and went on and had a solid performance. “This season so far is uphill and positive,” Martinez said. “At our full potential we’ll keep going up and reach our goal.”

RUN UP. The Caney Creek High School Varsity football team running out for their entrance against Montgomery High School on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024. The energy was high for the first home game of the new season and it started off good with the first quarter ending score being 7-7. Unfortunately it would be downhill from there, a gap between scores happened and kept widening, with the ending score of the game being a 33-58 loss.
