During the varsity football game on Sep. 10, 2022, Student Council hosted a “Kick Hunger” fundraiser to benefit the Montgomery County Foodbank.

Student Council will be teaming up with other 6-A schools to raise money for the Montgomery County Foodbank. This will happen throughout the third quarter of some select district games.

“During the third quarter on both sides of the stadium and both stands, they will walk around with boots and ask for change donations,” history teacher and Student Council co-sponsor Tracy Underwood said. “And then at the end, when they’re done collecting, they will meet and count the donations.”

Caney Creek raised $431.00 on their side of the stadium, while Conroe raised $165.72. Together, the schools raised a total of $596.72

“I think it meant like a way for us to connect with other schools that are part of our district, even though we were playing against them,” senior Amaris Hernandez said. “We were able to come together to add up the money. And it’s just a great way to help the community.”

According to Underwood the goal is $2000 across the season. Student Council plans to host the fundraiser again during football games against Oak Ridge and The Woodlands.
