Nursing and then I did accounting, which sucked the soul out of my life

Tell us about how you got into teaching.

I was always the smart  kid in class, so my teacher would make me help other students. I was like, “Hey, I like this.”

What do you do outside of school for fun? Why?

I like to hang out with my friends,  watching movies and to travel.

When people get to know you, what are they most surprised to learn about you?

That I was born in France and immigrated.

Tell us the story about what you are most proud of yourself for.

I’m proud I put myself through college. 

Who is someone you are thankful for and why?

My sister. When I need to cry, she always answers the phone.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

To be more confident, and do not listen to what other people say about you.

What do you hope to be remembered for?

Being a teacher who cares.

What’s on your bucket list?

To go to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and to go to Yellowstone
