The speech and debate team attended its first virtual meet Friday and Saturday, capturing early success.

Gallant Sloan attended the online A&M Consolidated High School tournament, advancing to finals and placing fifth in domestic extemporaneous speaking.

Kayla Ramirez, Adrianna Garzoria, and Daniella Padilla competed at the West Hardin Congressional Debate tournament Saturday. Ramirez took first place in her room, while Garzoria took third.

Last year, the team had Jose Solis make it to the state UIL Congress tournament. The district tournament this year is in November.

The team will compete again Friday and Saturday at the Lindale High School virtual tournament.
